Looks like we’ll be getting another season out of the Lucifer gang as Netflix has announced it has renewed the popular supernatural show for a sixth season!

Luficer was saved from cancellation by Netflix after it was cancelled by Fox in 2018 after its third season. Netflix granted the show a fourth and fifth season, the latter of which was meant to be the final season.

However, rumors had been brewing for quite some time that the show might be coming back for a sixth season, with Lucifer actor himself Tom Ellis recently signing a contract extension that would enable him to come back for a sixth season. the biggest signal that such a rumor might be true.

When Tom Ellis closed the deal to return for another season, an announcement of a sixth season seemed imminent — which turned out to be true, as the official Lucifer Twitter account announced earlier today.

Check out the announcement from the official Lucifer Twitter account below, which promises that this is truly the FINAL final season!

Lucifer is based on the comic book characters created by Neil Gaiman for DC’s Vertigo Imprint, and stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez and Kevin Alejandro.

The series is a mix of dark comedy, police procedural and supernatural love story and follows the charming and devilishly handsome Lord of Hell himself, Lucifer Morningstar, as he helps LAPD detective Chloe Decker find and take down criminals.
