If you’ve been eagerly anticipating Lucifer’s return to your screen since the mortality bomb on the last episode, we’ve got some great teases ahead of 1×05.
“Sweet Kicks,” the fifth episode in Lucifer’s freshman season, was always going to take an interesting turn — especially after the way the previous episode ended. With blood unexpectedly spilled, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the former Lord of Hell, and we’ve got five teases to tide you over ahead of tonight’s episode.
- Lucifer, as expected, takes to his potential mortality with an obsessive wonder. But, what you may not be expecting, is the specific conclusion he comes to at the end of the episode, that reaffirms an earlier choice made by another characters.
- There may be more to Mazikeen’s loyalty than we originally thought, drawing an interesting parallel with Lucifer’s railing against his father.
- If you’ve been missing some high-stakes action, “Sweet Kicks” more than makes up for it. There’s a particularly tense stand-off that provides an opportunity for an unexpected character to shine.
- Two characters collide in this episode that could spell trouble for Lucifer. Their chemistry is instant and fascinating, but an indulgence of Lucifer’s may come back to bite him in the ass.
- The episode ends on an ominous note, leaving us worried about the safety of one of the characters and how far another would be willing to go to protect someone.
