HBO’s Lovecraft Country trailer takes us on a journey to confront racist terrors and eldritch horrors ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

The show is based on the 2016 dark fantasy horror novel of the same name by Matt Ruff, and follow Atticus Freeman as he joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father.

This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

Lovecraft Country seems to be part sci-fi adventure, part dark horror tale, which makes it the perfect fare for executive producers J.J. Abrams, known for his high flying sci-fi adventures, and Jordan Peele, known for his smart, dark horror films.
