William Jackson Harper is heading to HBO Max for his next project.

According to Deadline, HBO Max’s anthology series, Love Life has found its season 2 star in none other than William Jackson Harper.

The star of The Good Place takes over the lead role from Anna Kendrick who headlined the anthology series’ first season.

HBO Max renewed the romantic comedy series back in June. When the renewal was announced, the streaming service revealed that season 2 of the series would still be set in New York City, but it wouldn’t continue to follow Darby (Kendrick) as the main character. Instead it would focus on a brand new character (one we now know will be played by Harper) and his journey.

Specifically, those who tune in will get to see what transpires after Harper’s character calls it quits with his significant other after years of being in a relationship with the person he assumed would be The One.

Though Love Life season 2 will focus primarily on Harper’s still unnamed character, that doesn’t mean fans have seen the end of Kendrick’s Darcy. In fact, the plan is to have Kendrick appear periodically to reprise her role from season 1.

To that extent, we’ll be excited to see what happens when Darcy crosses paths with Love Life’s new main character.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Love Life season 2 starring William Jackson Harper to premiere via HBO Max.
