We may not know much about Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series, but we can’t help but be excited with a creative team of this caliber!

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series has slowly been releasing the names of its behind-the-camera fellowship, having already announced showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay, writers Gennifer Hutchison and Bryan Cogman, and director J.A. Bayona.

This weekend, we got the full roster of the creative team responsible for bringing Amazon’s second age focused Lord of the Rings series to life and it’s quite a line-up of writers, artists, producers and consultants.

The series boasts a damn impressive list of creatives who have worked on some of the biggest and best film and television properties, including Hannibal, The Sopranos, Stranger Things, Fringe, Game of Thrones, Westworld, Star Trek, Avengers and the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings series.

Check out the full list in the trailer below!

While showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay themselves haven’t had any experience in television, they have an experienced and strong team of writers and producers with extensive TV experience supporting and guiding them through the process.

Which they’re surely glad to have, as the series represents not only one of the most anticipated scripted series for Amazon or any other streaming service, but will have the added pressure of millions of long-time fans.

Amazon won the rights to the Lord of the Rings after an intense bidding war that ended in a $250 million rights deal with the Tolkien estate for just the rights to create the show. The entire deal — said to eventually come to a total of over $1 billion — includes a five-season commitment that Amazon must put into production within two years of the November 13, 2018 deal date.

We’re speeding through those two years, and with the creative team officially announced, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear casting confirmations following soon as well. And if it’s anywhere near the caliber of this creative team, we’re sure we’ll be even more excited than we already are.
