Get ready, Lord of the Rings fans! The Fellowship of the Ring will be coming back together on Reunited Apart with Josh Gad!

Reunited Apart with Josh Gad is a quarantine-shot show that has done a tremendous job showcasing and raising money for some of the many incredible charities working to provide resources to those in need due to the COVID-19 crises, it has also given us some incredibly digital reunions.

Previous episodes have reunited the casts of Back to the Future, The Goonies and Splash for charity, and now, this Sunday, the show will bring together the cast of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy for a new episode!

In addition to the Lord of the Rings cast that we see in the announcement video — Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Orlando Bloom, and Ian McKellan — the episode will likewise feature the rest of the expansive cast of the movie, including Viggo Mortensen, Andy Serkis, Sean Bean, Karl Urban, John Rhys-Davies, Liv Tyler, Miranda Otto and director Peter Jackson.

Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings franchise adapted the three novels of J.R.R. Tolkien’s acclaimed book series of the same name. The films were shot simultaneously in New Zealand from October 1999 to December 2000, and was — at the time — widely considered one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken.

The budget of the three films combined to a massive $281 million, which then went on to gross over $2.891 billion worldwide. The series likewise went on to win 17 out of its 30 Oscar nominations.
