Looking may not be getting a full season order for 2016, but fans will get some closure with a two-hour film. What loose ends need to be tied up?

Cancelled shortly after the sophomore season of Looking wrapped on HBO, fans began a petition to save the series from the cutting room floor. However valiant their efforts may have been, it did not deter the network, which opted to give creator Michael Lannan and executive producer Andrew Haigh a chance to wrap up the stories they set out to tell.

As Looking season 2 is now available to download in Digital HD, we took a look back at the moments, relationships, and friendships we want to see addressed in the two-hour special.

Patrick and Richie

In the closing scene of Looking‘s season 2 finale, “Looking for Home,” Patrick slid into Richie’s barber chair ready to have his head shaved while they shared a comfortable silence. For the first time Patrick was not rambling nonsense or falling over his words, but he still made Richie question his presence. After a season of highs and lows between Richie and Patrick, a chunk of time should be dedicated to seeing where their friendship — or relationship — leads them.

Besides, who wouldn’t want to see more of the relationship we saw in the near bottle episode, “Looking for Truth?”

Agustîn and Eddie

The addition of Daniel Franzese to the Looking cast in season 2 was a stroke of genius. Not only did his eccentric personality and brutal honesty take Agustîn from the slums to stability, Eddie provided a great deal of emotional and funny moments. As we bid farewell to the typically pushed aside couple, we saw them declare in “Looking for Sanctuary” to be in a committed relationship. So, we want to know what became of their budding love.

Dom and Doris

There is no hiding the fact that we love Dom and Doris more than most of the main cast. In perhaps the best episode of the series, “Looking for a Plot,” we got a taste of what a Dom and Doris spin-off might look like when they are forced to tackle the heavier issues of their lives. Following Doris’ agreement to give Dom her inheritance to start his restaurant, their relationship hits an intersection that in 20 years they never imagined being faced with. Malik, a welcome addition brought to life by Bashir Salahuddin, barged in on their lives, but never stepped on any toes.

Dom and Doris’ funny moments are one thing, but their serious discussions in both “Looking for Sanctuary” and “Looking for Home” prove, yet again, that if Looking is going to do its fans justice, it must devote a chunk of time to exploring the status of this relationship.

The 3 amigos

Finally, what would Looking be without the friendship at the core of the show between Dom, Patrick, and Augustîn? Look back at the season 2 premiere, “Looking for the Promised Land” and you’ll see the raw concern for each other’s well-being that sometimes gets clouded by their own drama. If the movie shows us anything, and there is a lot to be crammed into only two hours, this is the one aspect that cannot go untouched. Bring the focus back in on the three friends by the end of the feature and Looking may give fans enough closure to move on.
