Looking season 2, episode 8 sends Patrick, Dom, and Agustîn to battle three very different games. Find out who was victorious in our recap!

Being able to effectively communicate with an audience is skill that you can take straight to the bank. It’s one of the major problems Kevin and Patrick have to face daily in the work that they do and, on tonight’s Looking season 2, episode 8, with the team they work on.

Aside from easing Patrick’s friends into the Kevin relationship, there comes a time when Patrick and Kevin need to make sure the rest of the world can begin accepting them as a two for one deal. Beyond a few calls to HR from their employees the team remains unsure about their current status.

Across town, Dom introduces Doris to his new partner, the chicken window. With Doris’ word that the money is his, Dom takes the plunge into becoming a full-time restaurant owner, maxing out his credit cards and quitting his job.

At GaymerX, the conference dedicated to gay gamers, Kevin and Patrick prepare to take their app, OneUp Him public. Based on the card game Kevin had as a child, Patrick and Kevin rushed a bit to develop the app where players can battle as gay archetypes. In search of a good Samaritan with extra table clips, Patrick gets a bit more than he bargained for when he visits his neighbor’s booth. Apparently promotion of harmful and demeaning stereotypes is not striking the market circling the showroom floor.

And, of course, Richie and Brady make their way through the crowd, because Patrick and Kevin have not had enough awkward situations to defuse for the afternoon. Kevin senses Patrick’s aversion to presenting themselves as a couple, and invites an unsuspecting Brady and a very suspecting Richie to grab a bite after the prom portion of the conference.

Agustîn and Eddie are forced to confront some issues that are arising in their sexual relationship after some panic ensues following a messy finish. Eddie recognizes the signs and heaves a heavy sigh. He’s used to being on the other side of a door as a partner panics after having sex with an HIV positive person. Agustîn takes his AIDS panic to Dom “The AIDS Meltdown” friend. Dom reminds Agustîn that it is not 1994 anymore, it’s time to stop panicking and have a serious talk with his partner. If he wants to start looking at the long term, he must first get through the present.

Speaking of the present, with Doris and Malik enjoying the family weekend parties that come with a serious relationship, Dom is left to start building his dream alone. Well, Agustîn is there, but he doesn’t know a wrench from a hammer. But once he leaves to work through his issues with Eddie, Dom is left to realize that his life is getting rather lonely without his friends, or Lynn.

Patrick decides to turn the GaymerX prom into the prom he never had, complete with a hotel room, suits, flowers, pictures, and slow dancing while a jealous ex looks on. The night is nearly perfect. But after prom is where things get interesting. After Brady drunkenly asks Kevin to escort him to the bathroom because he sounds like Mary Poppins, Richie and Patrick finally have a moment alone. Richie hears the reality of the what happened over the last two weeks as Patrick explains the difference between finding someone on his stoop this time around. But it takes the return of Brady to reveal what Richie really thinks of Patrick and Kevin’s relationship prior to this evening. Both parties kept their cool, offering pancakes to the poor drunk as opposed to retaliating.

Back upstairs in the hotel, Kevin admires the city and the man he chose. Before heading back to bed, the duo get their first one-star review. Kevin, yet again, defuses the situation leaving Patrick to fumble into “I love you” territory. Only this time, he is on the offering side of the table and Kevin responds much better than Patrick ever could to Richie.
