Tonight’s all new Looking season 2, episode 4, “Looking Down the Road,” has a harsh wake-up call in store for Dom and Patrick. Read our recap here!

The morning after Kevin and Patrick’s first overnight comes with a hearty dish of classic English breakfast and a real talk about the state of their affair. Because no matter how Kevin feels when he is with Patrick, all traces of love are washed away when he returns to the life he is building with John. Kevin is not willing to let what he has with Patrick go, but the strain is beginning to weigh on Patrick.

The cracks between Patrick and Kevin expand after Patrick meets up with Richie for an ice cream date. Every topic that Patrick tries to awkwardly grapple with crashes and burns. But the burning of chatting about waiting in line is nothing compared to the topic of Richie’s new beau and Patrick’s fling with his boss. Still unsure why they even need to be friends, Richie lays out the situation for Patrick. He is in a relationship with a guy named Brady.

From season 1, you can probably pick up on Patrick’s obsession with putting people under certain labels. Brady’s “ginger” label is nothing like the “home wrecker” title Richie slaps on Patrick. In a cringe-worthy exchange, Patrick begins to defend his relationship, but Richie ends it all by cautioning Patrick about being the person who is in deeper than the other. Experience speaks volumes.

Agustîn wraps up his Patrick free weekend by accompanying Eddie to the at risk shelter. In a group session, Agustîn spends time with the trans teens and afterwards asks Eddie if there is room for him to pick up work at the shelter. Even if the pay is rock bottom, Agustîn needs something in his life that will not make him hate himself.

Dom works up the strength to approach Lynn after their exchange at the rugby pitch and is greeted by Matthew, a dancer who is another pawn in Lynn’s life. Instead of trying to get on Lynn’s good side, he plays Lynn’s game and a ménage à trois ensues.

The next morning, Patrick and Dom are hashing out the details of the night, but Dom’s problems take a backseat when Patrick catches a glimpse of the domestic Kevin and John out shopping for groceries. They leave without approaching them, but Patrick wastes no time taking his anxiety to the roof the next day. Patrick lays everything on the line, asking nothing of Kevin in return. But Kevin takes the opportunity to jump all in.

A night of drinks and revelry is not in the stars for everyone. Dom decides to greet Lynn with a proposal: build another life beyond his twenty years with Brian and welcome in a new love. It may not include Dom, but Lynn should not rule out the possibility that someone can begin to fill the Brian-shaped void. As much as Dom claims he wants Lynn to move forward, he wants to be that person he chooses.

Luckily, Dom has Doris. She abandons her drink to take her friend home and refocus his energy on a Kickstarter campaign to get his perri-perri chicken shop off the ground.

Patrick, after meeting Brady and Richie, spots Kevin across the bar. Instead of arriving with the news that they can begin their lives together, Kevin admits he could not tell John the truth. He was hoping to feed into some suspicion of an affair, but John has no clue what is going on. Patrick lets Richie’s harsh dose of reality sink in. Being in too deep sucks.
