Looking For Alaska casting continues! Today two more actresses have joined the race to become Alaska, while a pair of actors are vying for the role of The Colonel.

The Wrap reported Wednesday afternoon that Nicola Peltz (above left) and Courtney Eaton (right) are testing for the titular role of Alaska. As we reported last week, Anya Taylor-Joy and Immy Waterhouse are also up for the part.

As for Miles, the book’s lead character who does the “looking,” the studio is currently considering Mitchell Hope and Charlie Rowe.

“Insiders suggest that [Charlie] Rowe and Taylor-Joy are the current frontrunners to play Miles and Alaska,” The Wrap said today, adding that chemistry tests still need to be reviewed before any final decisions are made.

The Wrap also revealed that John D’Leo and Logan Miller are currently testing for the role of Chip “The Colonel” Martin. The character is Miles’ roommate and gives him the nickname Pudge before introducing him to Alaska.

Looking For Alaska was John Green’s first YA novel and is considered one of his best by many of his readers. The book was published in March 2005 and will be adapted for the big screen by Paramount and the Fault in Our Stars / Paper Towns screenwriting team.

The film will be directed by Rebecca Thomas and is expected to open in theaters sometime in 2016.

Looking For Alaska’s film rights have been sitting at Paramount for a while, but the studio only decided to adapt it for the big screen after last year’s very very successful adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars by Fox.

Paper Towns opened in theaters last week and didn’t perform as well as expected — it made $12.6 million in its opening weekend domestically. Worldwide its generated $30.4 million (so far).
