Season 3 is not meant to be for Patrick, Dom, and Agustîn, as HBO has opted to cancel Looking after two seasons.

Looking will not return behind HBO’s Sunday night block of Girls and Togetherness next January. The show, created by Andrew Haigh and Michael Lannan, stepped up its game at the close of season 2 after a disappointing start. By having the characters dive headfirst into unfamiliar territory, the final four episodes of the season, and ultimately the series, left fans and the characters in a better place than they started.

HBO released this statement regarding their decision:

After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special. We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows loyal fans.

While the series may not produce 10 more episodes, there will be closure for fans. Whether it is a 40 minute special or movie length feature remains to be seen.

So, what are some questions we would like to see answered? For starters, does Dom find success in the chicken business? Do Doris and Malik decide that a reindeer might be a little too much? Did Patrick break up with Kevin? Did he wind up with Richie? Oh, and how fabulous was Agustîn and Eddie’s wedding? Come on, you know that’s where those two were heading!

We hope to see the strong leads Looking turned our attention to to pop up more and more over the coming months. Perhaps even our dream of seeing a spin off, At Home With Dom and Doris, will come true! (Not likely.) Jonathan Groff is currently keeping busy in his role as King George in the hit musical Hamilton.

Looking will return to HBO with a special to wrap up the characters stories. Check back here for more info.
