The highly anticipated Loki series coming down the pipeline at Disney+ has added yet another notable cast member to its ranks.

Update (3/11/2020): Actor Richard E. Grant has officially signed on to appear in the upcoming Marvel series.

For his part, Grant is no stranger to the world of comic book adaptations. Previously, the British actor has appeared in James Mangold’s gritty Wolverine drama, Logan, where he plays the role of Dr. Zander Rice. On the Disney front, Grant also appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker where he took on the role of General Eric Pryde.

As far as Loki goes, Grant’s role is being kept shrouded in secrecy for now. That being said, Variety (who was first to report the news) reports that a source close to the project has revealed that he’ll actually only be appearing on one episode of the series.

Grant is the latest actor to join the cast of the forthcoming Marvel limited series, which finds Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as the titular Asgardian God of Mischief.

Others who’ve already signed on include Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

You can read up on their respective casting announcements below!

First Update (2/11/2020):

Actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Apple TV+’s The Morning Show) has officially joined the cast of Loki, according to Deadline.

As eager Marvel fans undoubtedly know by now, the forthcoming Disney+ series will find Tom Hiddlestone reprising his role as the famed Asgardian God of Mischief— following the fan favorite character as we learn of what happens to him following the vents of Avengers: Endgame.

So who will Mbatha-Raw be playing on the show? It sounds as though we’ll have to wait for answers as plot details surrounding her character are being kept firmly under wraps.

The actress, who was also seen previously in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, isn’t the only star who’ll be joining Hiddleston in the series.

It was reported that Owen Wilson had also joined the cast of the series in a major role also being shrouded in secrecy.

In addition, Yesterday actress Sophia Di Martino has also reportedly joined the cast as well. Read up on what we know about her involvement below!

Original Story (11/17/19): Loki’s supporting cast is finally starting to fill out, with Sophia Di Martino joining Tom Hiddleston in the limited Disney+ series.

Variety is reporting that the Yesterday actress will be joining the series in a significant role. At this point, we haven’t gotten much in the way of news for this highly anticipated Disney+ series, so it’s great that things are starting to come together.

Her role hasn’t yet been confirmed, but Deadline speculates that she could be playing a female version of the God of Mischief, sharing the role of Loki with Tom Hiddleston. As Loki is a shapeshifter and often takes on female forms in the Marvel comics, this is definitely plausible.

The series will be written by Michael Waldron and directed by Kate Herron. Although Loki met his untimely death in Avengers: Infinity War, the more mischievous, less evolved version was freed from 2012 due to an unfortunate Hulk incident in Avengers: Endgame. Now he’s loose on an unsuspecting world, making this series possible!

Loki will join an impressive slate of original Marvel series for Disney+, including Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and the animated What If? series, which Robert Downey Jr. was recently confirmed for.

Production on Loki will begin in 2020, with the series set to premiere in Spring 2021 as part of Marvel’s Phase 4. Click here for more information on Phase 4 release dates!
