The Loki series from Disney+ is in talks to have Owen Wilson star alongside Tom Hiddleston in what is being described as a prominent — but currently unknown — role.

Disney+ is bringing some of the MCU’s most beloved and popular heroes and villains down from the cinematic universe to the world of television, with Tom Hiddleston’s fan-favorite Loki being one of the most anticipated characters to make the leap from the silver screen to the small screen.

Though the character died at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War, the show is slated to follow the alternate version of Loki who managed to escape New York City in the MCU’s 2012 during a time traveling scene in Avengers: Endgame.

Now, it looks like another big movie star is set to join Tom Hiddleston in his adventures as Loki, as Comicbook.com exclusively reported today that Owen Wilson is in talks to join the cast in what’s being described as a major role.

However, what that major role might be is locked up as tightly as one of the MCU’s scripts, and it’s likely that fans won’t know until the series is closer to filming.

This will mark the first time that Owen Wilson, known for his quirky work in the The Royal Tenanbaums and his comedic chops in Wedding Crashers and Shanghai Noon, will be working with Marvel Studios.

His casting in the Loki series is exciting given that Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige confirmed that any actors making an appearance in a Marvel Disney+ series likewise makes those actors eligible to appear in future films and other shows.

Given that it’s already been confirmed that the Loki series will tie directly into the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie, it’s possible that Owen Wilson could also be making his big screen Marvel debut sometime in the near future.
