Locke and Key season 3 is officially a go over at Netflix!

According to Deadline, Netflix has opted to renew its adaptation of Locke and Key.

The cast took to Twitter to share the good news with fans far and wide, sharing a cute photo via the official Netflix account.

Based on the hit graphic novel by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke and Key is described as a supernatural coming of age mystery that focuses on the three Locke siblings.

Following the mysterious death of their father, the siblings and their mother find themselves moving into their ancestral home of Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens that will stop at nothing to steal them.

News of a season 3 renewal couldn’t have come at a better time for the series or for fans of the show. Especially given that Locke and Key was just renewed for a season 2 back in March of this year.

Production on the series’ second season is just about wrapped out in Toronto, and the series plans to begin shooting its third seal sometime in 2021.

News of a season 3 renewal also comes hot on the heels of word that co-showrunner Meredith Averill has just signed an overall deal with Netflix which will find her developing other projects for the streaming giant.

Season 2 of Locke and Key is set to debut via Netflix sometime in 2021.
