Great news, Lizzie McGuire fans— looks like Hilary Duff isn’t the only one set to return for the upcoming Disney+ revival!

Lizzie McGuire fans flipped over the summer when Disney announced plans to revive the hit Disney Channel original series, Lizzie McGuire.

As exciting as it was at the time to hear that Hilary Duff was already on board to reprise her role as a grown up Lizzie, the one question on every fan’s mind was whether or not any of the other original cast would be joining Duff for the series.

Now, it looks as though we finally have our answer to that question!

In a press release sent out on Thursday (October 24) afternoon, Disney+ announced that actors Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas had all signed on to reprise their roles as Jo, Sam, and Matt McGuire, respectively.

In a statement announcing the exciting news, Disney+ president of content & marketing, Ricky Strauss, spoke about how excited everyone is to “bring back one of the most popular Disney Channel series of all time along with some beloved and familiar faces.”

“With [original series creator Terri Minsky] at the helm, and Hilary, Hallie, Robert, and Jake back after all these years, it’s our honor to welcome the McGuire family into the Disney+ family,” said Strauss.

Said Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide: “Just like there is no Lizzie McGuire without Hilary Duff, there is no McGuire family without Hallie, Robert, and Jake. The original series holds a special place in the hearts of so many, and we can’t wait to introduce fans, both old and new, to an older, wiser, yet still perfectly imperfect Lizzie.”

Perhaps even more exciting than the casting announcement, is the fact that Todd, Carradine, Thomas, and Duff have wasted no time in reuniting.

To celebrate the news, the McGuire crew posed together along with the first script for the upcoming Disney+ series on the brand new set of the Lizzie McGuire revival.

“We are standing in what will soon be the McGuire living room,” wrote Duff in the caption of an Instagram post which features the reunion photo. “What’s up fam. We doin this.”

There’s no word on when we can expect the series to premiere on Disney+, but production on the show is well underway. In fact, the cast is set to get together for the first time in 15 years this week to do a read through of the first episode!
