The fourth annual Streamy Awards ceremony took place last night, and The Lizzie Bennet Diaries took home two awards!
Last night, the Streamys once again celebrated creative online content with its fourth annual awards ceremony in Santa Monica, California.
The Streamy Awards aim to honour original online video content creators, and presents awards for music, scripted web series, comedy shows and much more.
The Jane Austen-inspired web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries was among the winners; the show took home the Best Drama award, beating out fellow nominees Chosen, Lauren, Mortal Combat: Legacy II and Storytellers.
The creative team was present to accept the award, along with lead actress Ashley Clements (Lizzie). Creator Bernie Su delivered their acceptance speech, in which he thanked co-creator Hank Green, as well as the cast and crew.
Su also expressed gratitude for the fact that his series got to, “Inspire young creators to read books, and to tell their stories in new ways.”

Clements also picked up the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Actor Daniel Vincent Gordth was nominated for a Best Actor award, but the honour went to Joey Graceffa for his work on Storytellers.
This is only the latest prestigious award for the popular web series. Last year, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries picked up a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media, as well as a number of Streamys (it was nominated in the Best Comedy Series category rather than Drama).
Other notable Streamy Award winners include Video Game High School for Best Action/Sci-Fi and Best Ensemble Cast, My Drunk Kitchen for Best Comedy, and Jenna Marbles for Best First Person.
President Barack Obama and Zack Galifianakis were also celebrated by the Streamy Awards, winning Best Collaboration for their Between Two Ferns episode. Neither were present to receive the award.
The Lydia-centric Lizzie Bennet Diaries sequel The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet will be released next year.
