That’s right, they are adapting the adaptation. A novelisation of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries will be coming to bookstores near you in 2014, showrunner Bernie Su has announced.

The announcement came during the Lizzie Bennet Diaries panel at LeakyCon. Touchstone Books will be publishing the novelisation, which is set for a spring or summer 2014 release.

Fans quickly took to twitter to share the exciting news.

Su was quoted as saying: “What you’re going to ideally see, or read, will be what’s kind of around the vlogs; it will be a companion to what’s already there and will be about what she already talks about in the vlogs.” (Thanks, LeakyNews).

Sounds like fans will be getting some of the in-character, behind-the-scenes moments from between Lizzie’s vlogs. There is no word yet as to who will be writing the novelisation.

It is almost like the Lizzie Bennet Diaries creators are adapting their own adaptation, or writing their own fanfiction… Okay, we’re getting too meta – let’s just get excited for more Lizzie Bennet Diaries goodness.

This novelisation will be in addition to the Lizzie Bennet Diaries edition of Pride and Prejudice that was printed for the Lizzie Bennet Diaries Kickstarter.

As far as we are aware, the Lizzie Bennet Diaries edition was a reprint of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, with an additional introduction by Lizzie Bennet Diaries co-creator Hank Green.
