The first trailer for Dora the Explorer’s live-action counterpart debuted at the Kids Choice Awards, and… well. It actually looks pretty good!

Over the last couple of months, the Dora movie has been adding several beloved latinx actors to its ranks, such as Isabel Moner as the titular Dora, as well as Michael Peña, Eva Longoria, and Benicio del Toro. Despite those big names attached, it was difficult to tell how the jump from animation to live-action would work for Dora and friends.

Based on the hit Nickelodeon children’s television series, several major aspects of the original Dora show were reported to be altered. Such as ageing Dora up from a seven-year-old to a teenager, and also having her survive her first year of high school.

But any trepidation felt melted away, because Dora and the Lost City of Gold looks like a whole ton of fun.

The trailer itself gives off some real Indiana Jones-esque vibes, as Dora and her new high school friends get caught up trying to find her parents, and the lost Inca city. But, while it’s packed with tons of action sequences, it also has a few quippy one-liners and comedic moments — something that will likely track well with the all-ages audience.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold premieres in theaters on August 2.
