Hot on the heels of the first trailer for the Steven Spielberg film, three networks debuted a new trailer for Lincoln last night during the first Presidential debate.

The trailer kicks off with reminders of various moments and figures in America’s history post-Lincoln such as Martin Luther King Jr., September 11, and Nelson Mandela. We’re then treated to new footage of Daniel Day-Lewis in the role of Abraham Lincoln, and we see the President fighting against his opponents to abolish slavery. The trailer ends with a great line delivered by Lewis: “I am the president of the United States of America… clothed in IMMENSE POWER!”

In addition to Day-Lewis, the film features an impressive cast including Sally Field (Forrest Gump), Tommy Lee Jones (No Country for Old Men), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Looper), Hal Holbrook (Into the Wild), James Spader (Boston Legel), John Hawkes (Winter’s Bone), Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, Where Art Thou?), David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck), Walton Goggins (The Bourne Identity), Lee Pace (The Fall), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) and David Oyelowo (The Last King of Scotland). Spielberg has certainly amassed an impressive cast to round out the host of other historical figures who play a prominent role in the events surrounding Lincoln.

Lincoln will make its limited release on November 9 and opens everywhere November 16.
