Hamilton fans on the West Coast got a taste of Ham4Ham magic when Lin-Manuel Miranda brought the fan favorite lottery performance tradition back for a one-time-only revival.

Miranda took to the front of the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday (August 16) along with music director Alex Lacamoire, and a handful of the Hamilton touring cast for a very special live Ham4Ham performance.

“Hello California! This is your first and only Ham4Ham show,” said Miranda to a sizable crowd of cheering fans. “I did tell them we might have to close down the street — they have closed down the street — thank you all for coming.”

From there, fans were treated to a fun mash-up of songs centered around the Golden State, which included everything from Tupac’s iconic West Coast anthem “California Love,” to The beloved Beach Boy’s classic, “California Girls.”

After, Miranda invited Hamilton alumn Daveed Diggs up on stage to draw the first lucky winner of the lottery for the musical’s opening night in L.A.

If you weren’t able to make it out in person, the good news is the folks who run the official Hamilton YouTube channel were quick to upload a video of today’s Ham4Ham for everyone to enjoy.
