Disney’s new Ducktales series has booked a major star to voice one of its characters: Lin-Manuel Miranda!

DisneyXD says Lin-Manuel Miranda, a “lifelong DuckTales aficionado,” will be playing “fan-favorite character Gizmoduck, a Duckburg hero whose true identity is Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, a brilliant young intern working for Scrooge McDuck’s personal mad scientist, Gyro Gearloose.”

A first look at Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Ducktales character is above (he’s on the left).

Executive producer Matt Youngberg said in a statement, “Lin came to mind instantly for the role of Gizmoduck. His rapid-fire earnestness paired with his wide-eyed yet determined optimism made him the perfect person to yell ‘BLATHERING BLATHERSKITE!'”

Miranda is booked for a recurring role and co-stars alongside David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck; Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as the voices of Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively; Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack; Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack and Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley.

The show is set to premiere later this year and has already been renewed for season 2!
