The March Hamildrop is here, and this time it is a powerful team up of Lin-Manuel Miranda partnering with Ben Platt.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has been blessing us all with his monthly #Hamildrops, featuring various artists providing a new spin on Hamilton songs. While the February Hamildrop was an outstanding polka medley of Hamilton songs by the brilliant ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, this month’s takes a bit of a different turn.

Miranda partnered with Dear Evan Hansen‘s Ben Platt to create a gorgeous mashup of “The Story of Tonight” from Hamilton and “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen called “Found/Tonight.”

The collaboration is utterly gorgeous, with Miranda and Platt’s vocals set to the simple backdrop of a piano and strings. “Found/Tonight” is emotional and moving, and like a lot of the special projects Miranda has been involved with lately, it’s also supporting a great cause. The proceeds from “Found/Tonight” will be going to March For Our Lives, an amazing, student-led initiative to get lasting, sensible gun control.

Ask any of your theater nerd friends, and they’ll tell you that this is basically a dream pairing here. Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen have both made huge marks in the musical theater world, and to have Platt and Miranda working together is basically a dream.

But even more than that, this song is an amazing blend of inspiration and hope, and it’s just what we need to hear as many of us follow the lead of this badass generation of teenagers to march for gun control on March 24. If you want to help out March For Our Lives, you can download or stream “Found/Tonight,” and you can head to the March For Our Lives website to get more information about the official march on DC.
