Actress Lily James is reportedly on her way out of Downton Abbey after she completes season 5, according to The Daily Mail.

The U.K. publication reports that the actress who plays young Lady Rose will leave Downton Abbey because of her commitments to Disney for their upcoming live-action film Cinderella. The promotional schedule will overlap with when Downton will likely film its sixth season, thus leaving James unable to shoot the Edwardian drama.

Since The Daily Mail isn’t always the most reliable source, her permanent departure should be taken with a grain of salt for now. Perhaps Julian Fellowes will write James out of only series 6 and bring her back for series 7 (assuming the show runs so long).

The report claims that she won’t be killed off like some characters have been when the actor/actress wants to leave.

James is currently filming Downton Abbey series 5 in the United Kingdom, so you can expect to see her later this year or early next on your television.

Lady Rose was prominent in series 4, which aired last year on ITV and earlier this year on PBS. She fell for a black jazz singer, which upset a couple of people within Downton who didn’t want to see her with a man who was of a different race. Ultimately, Jack decided that he and Rose were not meant to be together.

Downton Abbey frequently sees actors and actresses come and go. Thankfully, no characters were killed off at the end of series 4.
