The dust still hasn’t settled, but Lifetime is already fast-tracking a Lifetime Original Movie about the college admissions scandal.

Whether or not you feel terribly invested in it, by now you’ve heard quite a bit about the college admissions scandal going on recently, mainly because of some celebrity names attached to it like Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin. Both women are facing serious charges and serious consequences, and their careers have taken serious nosedives. However, it doesn’t mean that society as a whole is ready to move on from this story, apparently.

The Hollywood Reporter explains that Lifetime is already working on an original movie about the admissions scandal (called, appropriately, College Admissions Scandal), and the movie is set to premiere this fall. It’s an incredibly quick turnaround, but that’s not terribly shocking for Lifetime as it has a pretty solid history of taking news stories about anything from royal engagements to pregnancy pacts and more and turning them into original movies in a year or less.

The official description is pretty straightforward: “College Admissions Scandal will follow two wealthy mothers who share an obsession with getting their teenagers into the best possible college. When charismatic college admissions consultant Rick Singer offers a side door into the prestigious institutions of their dreams, they willingly partake with visions of coveted acceptance letters in their heads.”

Though it isn’t spelled out, it seems those “two wealthy mothers” will be Huffman and Loughlin. However, it could also be that the movie will focus on two non-famous moms and simply reference Huffman and Loughlin.

As of right now, we don’t know who will be in the cast of College Admissions Scandal. However, though Loughlin isn’t a stranger to Lifetime and made-for-TV-movies, we think it is pretty safe to say she won’t be playing herself in this one. We’ll be watching this story as it develops to see if the movie will focus on Huffman and Loughlin, and if they do, who plays the actresses.

There isn’t an official release date apart from fall of 2019, but we’ll keep you posted as more news develops on this Lifetime Original Movie.
