Life-Size star Tyra Banks says Disney has a bunch of scripts for Life-Size 2, and that the film may debut by the end of next year.

Banks was speaking to Hollywood Life this week when she offered an update on the sequel to the 2000 fantasy TV movie co-starring Lindsay Lohan. “We have gotten many drafts of scripts, and the one thing I can say is that to the Disney Channel executives, Life-Size is so precious,” she said. “It’s like their baby, so they just want it perfect. They keep re-doing it, and re-doing it, and re-doing the script, and we are in another round of redos, and we’re hoping for Christmas 2016.”

Those of you who love Life-Size will surely remember that these comments about a sequel being in development aren’t Tyra’s first. In January 2014 she made her first remarks about Life-Size 2 existence, but at the time she said they were hoping to have it out by the end of 2015.

Despite the long development process it’s obvious that Tyra is very excited about the sequel, and it’s great to hear that there are still plans to make it happen!

Assuming it does go into production, it’ll be interesting to see how Disney releases this movie given its slow rise in popularity. Life-Size premiered on ABC before appearing on Disney Channel and on VHS (lol) in late 2000. Will the sequel debut on Disney Channel? In theaters? Direct to DVD/Blu-ray/VHS? Our guess is that it’ll have more viewers in its first week than the original did.

As for Lindsay Lohan’s potential involvement? “Right now, we haven’t spoken to Lindsay. But you never know,” Tyra told Hollywood Life.

Life-Size depicted Lindsay Lohan’s character trying to resurrect her mother with a spell, but accidentally bringing her toy doll (Tyra Banks) to life. Watch a clip from the movie below:
