See Liam Neeson as the notorious Mr. Toffee in Stephen Colbert’s hilarious Candy Crush: The Movie parody.

The mobile game Candy Crush was recently sold for an exorbitant amount of money ($5.9 billion, to be exact — that’s more than Disney gave for Star Wars!) by Activision Blizzard, and is officially one of the hottest properties in the entertainment industry.

Add to that the news that Activision Blizzard is launching their own movie production company, in order to make movies based on their Call of Duty video game series… and Candy Crush: The Movie is pretty much an inevitability, right?

…We sure hope not, although this parody version from Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show almost (almost!) makes us wish it was real.

Colbert recruited Liam Neeson to play Mr. Toffee, a dying man (pierced by a candy cane no less) who “spent years crushing candy.” His son, played by Colbert, is standing by to “crush in on his memory.” Scandalous!

Poor Liam Neeson is out of moves, and his foolish son accidentally put three lemon drops together, which made them disappear. And now he’s off to defeat the bubble gum troll. Is it just us, or would the Candy Crush movie basically be a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory rip-off?

Meanwhile, movie adaptations are also being developed for Monopoly and The Settlers of Catan. But perhaps the most ridiculous movie in development right now (until they announce the Farm Heroes movie) is the one Sony is developing based on Emojis. It truly is a weird world we live in.

Would you watch Liam Neeson and Stephen Colbert’s ‘Candy Crush’ movie?
