Liam Cunningham is currently appearing in two of the hottest properties on TV. He is Davos Seaworth on Game of Thrones, and this Saturday he will play Captain Zhukov, a Russian nuclear submarine commander, on Doctor Who.

Liam Cunningham received high praise from Matt Smith earlier this year, when asked about how exciting the season was going to be, and what his personal highlights were, “Gosh, yeah. We’ve got Liam Cunningham, who is a personal favourite actor of mine. We’ve got a submarine. We’ve got the Ice Warriors…”

Check out the interview below where Cunningham states his own opinion about Matt Smith, and makes funny comments towards the success of both Game of Thrones and Doctor Who.

Cunningham goes on to talk about the episode, and gives praise to his co-star David Warner, who will play a professor in this week’s episode “Cold War.” When told that he was one of Matt Smith’s favorite actors, Cunningham returned the compliment and said Smith will go down as one of the most iconic Doctors in Doctor Who history, which we definitely agree with!

“Cold War” airs this coming Saturday, April 13 at 6:15 p.m. GST on BBC1 and 8:00 p.m. EST on BBC America.
