TNT’s Let the Right One In has cast its lead actress, and found a director for the pilot episode.

Jeff Davis’ post-Teen Wolf series, Let the Right One In, has cast Kristine Froseth as lead character Eli (via Coming Soon).

Froseth is a 19-year-old model and actress from Norway, who’s also set to play Shirley Blaney in next year’s Rebel in the Rye.

Let the Right One In is a TV adaptation of the Swedish bestselling novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which was previously made into a movie, twice — first in Sweden, and later in America, re-titled Let Me In.

The story, “follows [a] boy and female vampire, who lives in secrecy with her mysterious guardian. When a series of strange murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a federal marshal with a mysterious past of his own.”

Froseth’s character Eli, the vampire, is described by Deadline as, “thin and pale … lonely and friendless (for obvious reasons), Eli lands in an apartment building in Vermont, and soon begins a strange friendship with Henry, an equally lonely 16-year-old boy who has no idea what kind of creature he’s dealing with.”

Jeff Davis wrote the script for the pilot, which will be directed by Doctor Who and Happy Valley‘s Euros Lyn. Davis serves as executive producer with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios and Simon Oakes of Hammer Films.
