Following The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, and Looking for Alaska, another book (partially) written by John Green has just been optioned for film: Let it Snow.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Universal has purchased the rights to adapt the young adult book Let it Snow which features short stories from The Fault in Our Stars author John Green as well as Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.

The book was released in 2008 and features three different but connected stories of teens in a Christmastime blizzard, and the three stories are “tales of love, romance, and breathtaking kisses.”

It shouldn’t come as a big surprise to see the book optioned for film after the success of The Fault in Our Stars which brought in over $300 million worldwide on a measly $12 million budget. The success of The Fault in Our Stars had previously brought on two of John Green’s other novels being announced to be receiving adaptations. Paper Towns will be released next June and Looking for Alaska is also in the works.

A book being optioned for film adaptation by no means is a guarantee that it will be adapted, but given that John Green looks to be a near financial guarantee, we fully expect to see this film made.

Maureen Johnson has written several novels including the popular The Name of the Star, the first book in the Shades of London series and The Last Little Blue Envelope.

Lauren Myracle has also written many novels including yolo, ttyl, ttfn, and l8r, g8r.
