Lego is finally releasing a life-ish sized WALL-E: constructed with actual LEGO bricks, this is as close to perfect as we can get without building an actual robot!

Here’s one robot take-over we wouldn’t mind all that much: an army of WALL-Es, picking up our trash and making the world a better place.

Although Pixar’s WALL-E was released all the way back in 2008, Lego is only now releasing a model of the titular robot. But what a fantastic piece of tech this is.

Lego’s WALL-E is seven inches tall and is made with only 677 pieces. The manoeuvrability is amazing: WALL-E’s tank treads roll as it moves, it has a front door (containing a tiny plant replica!), and can display different expressions.

Creator Angus MacLane actually began constructing his WALL-E all the way back in 2005 when the movie first entered production. But it wasn’t until 2013 that MacLane submitted his idea to Ideas, Lego’s fan creation portal.

Unsurprisingly, the WALL-E replica was hugely popular with fans, and Lego designer Steen Sig Andersen was tasked with bringing the model to life.

Pixar enthusiasts will be able to get their hands on Lego’s WALL-E beginning around September 1. It was temporarily available for pre-order on Amazon but then disappeared — we’ll be sure to share a link once it’s back!

Lego’s official description reads:

Build, display and role play with WALL-E! Construct the LEGO Ideas version of WALL-E with posable neck, adjustable head and arms, gripping hands, opening trunk and rolling tracks.

Build a beautifully detailed LEGO version of WALL-E -the last robot left on Earth! Created by Angus MacLane, an animator and director at Pixar Animation Studios, and selected by LEGO Ideas members, the development of this model began alongside the making of the lovable animated character for the classic Pixar feature film. It has taken almost a decade to perfect the LEGO version, which incorporates many authentic WALL-E characteristics, including a posable neck, adjustable head, arms that move up and down and side to side, plus gripping hands and rolling tracks. With a trunk that opens and closes, you can tidy up the planet one pile of garbage at a time! This set also includes a booklet about the designer and the animated Pixar movie.
