Stephen Amell will appear on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as future Oliver Queen.

After appearing in the pilot of Legends as a sounding board for Ray Palmer, Stephen Amell will be appearing again in episode 6, reports EW. The twist is this episode will take place in 2046, 30 years from the present day. During this episode, we’ll also be meeting Connor Hawke, Oliver’s son from the comic books. (We previously reported that Connor Hawke would appear here.)

We know that Oliver has a son in the present day, but his name is not Connor. It’s more than possible that Oliver and Felicity could have a child, however, assuming they stay together.

Interestingly, Legends was casting a “hulking, brawny” character who will “pick up his father’s mantle and become a powerful villain” for episode 6. Could that be Connor?

“Every once and a while, we do an episode where the 10-year-old me has to pinch himself,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. “We’re not only introducing our version of Connor Hawke to our universe, we’re going to meet the 2046 version of Oliver Queen, and Stephen Amell is going to be reprising his role from Arrow.

“As an added bonus to comic-book fans, Oliver is missing his left arm and will be sporting a goatee, in a nod to the character’s appearance in the seminal Dark Knight Returns. We think this episode features some of the coolest things we’ve ever done.”

The Dark Knight Returns is a story from 1986 that features a 55-year-old Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to fight crime again as Batman, only to meet resistance from the Gotham City Police Department and the government. He ends up fighting Superman and fakes his death in the progress. Oliver Queen appears in this story as a rebel against the government, which has outlawed superheroes. He blames Superman for the loss of his arm.

Legends of Tomorrow airs Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
