Legends of Tomorrow season 1, episode 5, “Fail-Safe,” features the Legends trying to rescue their captured teammates.

In Legends of Tomorrow season 1, episode 4, “White Knights,” the team traveled to the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Their best lead for finding Vandal Savage was a physicist named Valentina Vostok who was developing something for him. Ray and Snart tried to seduce her, and Snart succeeded in stealing her lab key card. Stein infiltrated her lab and discovered that Vostok and Savage were trying to develop a Soviet Firestorm. Stein, Mick and Ray were captured by Savage’s men and locked up in a Soviet gulag.

In “Fail-Safe,” the remaining Legends will attempt to rescue their teammates and keep the knowledge of Firestorm out of Vandal Savage’s hands. The synopsis for the episode reads:

“THE TEAM ORCHESTRATES A PRISON BREAK — After some of the Legends are captured and thrown into a Russian gulag during the height of the Cold War of 1986, Snart (Wentworth Miller) leads the team in an elaborate escape plan to free their comrades. However, Rip (Arthur Darvill) gives Sara (Caity Lotz) a secret side mission that could prove not only to be a liability, but fatal to the team. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Grainne Godfree (#105).”

And yes, according to EP Marc Guggenheim, fans can expect a reference to the fact that Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller starred in Prison Break.
