A new sneak peek from The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 6 makes it clear that Varrick has big plans.

The Legend of Korra season 2 continues this Friday with a new episode titled “The Sting.” A new sneak peek from the episode demonstrates how the millionaire mogul Varrick sees the world – and how he plans to use Bolin in service of that worldview.

Legend of Korra: The Sting: “Bolin the Mover Star”

In the clip, Varrick and Bolin (and an unimpressed Ginger) sit in a theater as Varrick proclaims that Bolin is a star. “People love stars!” he cries. “Stars tell them what to think and how to act!” (Yikes.)

According to Varrick, people are like monkey-marmots. You can’t force them to do anything – you have to make them want to it themselves. Translation: Varrick plans to use Bolin’s new “movers” as propaganda to sway public opinion toward supporting the Southern Water Tribe.

We can’t help but feel awfully sorry for Bolin at this point. He’s so thoroughly bamboozled by Varrick that the poor guy can’t even see that he’s a pawn in the mogul’s money-making schemes.

The official summary for The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 6 focuses on Bolin’s significantly more savvy brother:

When Triad activity threatens to put Future Industries out of business, Mako performs an investigation and uncovers a conspiracy.

Hopefully this indicates that we’ll get a healthy helping of Asami in this episode… but unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much mention of Korra, who kind of got spirit-gulped in last week’s episode.

Luckily, a new clip from next week’s two-part episode, “Beginnings,” was recently released, which assures us that Korra is at least still among the living – if spirit-y. The clip also gives us an exciting look at Wan, the young man who would become the very first Avatar.

The first part of “Beginnings” will be screened at the Legend of Korra panel this Saturday at New York Comic Con. Featured on the panel will be co-creator Bryan Konietzko, executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, and voice actors Janet Varney (Korra), PJ Byrne (Bolin), and Steven Yuen (Wan).

The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 6, “The Sting” will air this Friday at 8:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
