A new sneak peek from The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 5, “Peacekeepers,” shows us a new teacher-student relationship.

The Legend of Korra season 2 continues this Friday with a new episode entitled “Peacekeepers.” A new sneak peek released from the episode doesn’t say much about peace, but it does give us a glimpse at the developing dynamics of Tenzin’s family at the Southern Air Temple.

While last week, it was Tenzin’s younger daughter Ikki who received the benefit of her dad’s attention (and Tenzin learned a thing or two as well,) it looks like this week will be younger brother Meelo’s turn to spend some quality time with his father.

Legend of Korra: “Peacekeepers: Meelo the Master Trainer”

In the new clip from The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 5, Tenzin looks on as Meelo tries to train his adopted lemur, Pokie. Meelo’s training skills are less than adequately developed, and Tenzin mutters critiques of his five-year-old son’s methods – though thankfully, only to himself.

When Pokie gets bored and flies off, Tenzin offers to teach Meelo how to become “a master trainer,” and Meelo eagerly agrees.

While it will be fun to see Tenzin interacting with Meelo, we wonder if this interaction is set up to show Tenzin what he really lacks as a teacher himself. After all, it was Tenzin’s inability to teach and communicate with Korra that drove her to trust her Uncle Unalaq – with disastrous consequences.

The official summary for The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 5, “Peacekeepers” focuses on the aftermath of that disaster for Korra:

When the President of the United Republic refuses to help Korra, she decides to take matters into her own hands.

The Legend of Korra season 2, episode 5 will kick off a new air time for the show, as was announced yesterday. Going forward, new episodes of The Legend of Korra will air at 8:30 p.m. on Friday nights on Nickelodeon.
