Actor Lee Thompson Young has died at the age of 29, the Los Angeles Police Department have confirmed.

Thompson was found in his apartment dead on Monday morning. TMZ, who broke the story, reports that he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after not showing up for work.

The actor most recently starred in TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles. He is best known for his first role on Disney Channel’s The Famous Jett Jackson in the late 1990s. He played the titular character who was also known as Silverstone.

Other roles for the young actor included Flashforward and the movie Friday Night Lights. He was born in South Carolina.
