Sad news for the American Idol!  Reports have surfaced today stating that the season 9 Idol winner has been fired from RCA records.

In an interview last week, RCA Records CEO Peter Edge confirmed that DeWyze would no longer be a part of the RCA family.  Since RCA has joined with Jive, Arista, and J Records, their family of artists have grown significantly.  Due to the fact that DeWyze only sold 168,000 copies of his debut album, Live It Up, it was logical that he would be let go after his option expired in September.

RCA will still be home to many previous Idol winners, such as Jordin Sparks, Kris Allen, David Cook, and two of the biggest names born from the popular competition series, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.

What do you think? Are you sad to see Lee DeWyze dropped from his label?
