Ryan Reynolds tweeted out a link to a “leaked” version of Detective Pikachu, and surprisingly, it’s something you should absolutely watch.

In the age of the internet, it isn’t outside of the realm of possibility for a leaked version of a highly anticipated movie to find its way online before the film’s premiere date. However, it is pretty rare for one of the film’s stars to tweet out a link to that leaked version like Detective Pikachu’s Ryan Reynolds just did.

Reynolds has been doing a lot of great work building anticipation for Detective Pikachu by posting hilarious videos to YouTube, so it might be a bit shocking to see him undermind his own movie like this. But unlike a lot of other leaked versions of movies, we’re definitely going to advise that you check this one out.

Okay, so maybe this isn’t a leaked version of the movie. But you’ve got to admit this is a pretty fantastic video.

Nearly 2 hours of Detective Pikachu bustin’ a move to a sweet ’80s tune? Yes, please! This is about 1000 times better than getting Rick-Rolled, don’t you think?

The internet certainly thinks so, at least. According to Variety, after its first 14 hours of being online, the video racked up an impressive 4 million views.

This hasn’t been Ryan Reynolds’ first foray into “creative marketing” for Detective Pikachu. He’s created several videos depicting him “getting ready” to play the titular Pokemon (a video that was basically just him putting mo-cap dots on his face) and explaining his intricate process to become the famous yellow creature (and his attempts to lose nearly 200 pounds to truly “become” Pikachu).

The buzz around this movie is huge and tons of fun, and we can’t wait to see how that fun and creative spirit translates into the film itself. Happily, we don’t have to wait too much longer. Detective Pikachu opens in theaters everywhere on May 10.
