Though most “Bond Girls” are one-and-done, Lea Seydoux is reportedly reprising her role as Dr. Madeleine Swann in Bond 25.

As originally reported by The Daily Mail, Bond 25 director Cary Joji Fukunaga and Daniel Craig expressed a desire to have Seydoux return. Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris will also be reprising their roles in the movie.

With Seydoux’s return, she will make her mark as the first Bond Girl to reprise a role since Maud Adams, though Adams played three different roles. Adams played Andrea Anders in The Man With The Golden Gun, was the title character in Octopussy, and also made a cameo in A View to a Kill. Seydoux will, notably, be playing the exact same character.

Seydoux first appeared in Spectre as psychiatrist Dr. Madeleine Swann. Swann worked at an Austrian clinic, and started an affair with Bond, though her role was far more complex than that. Swann was revealed to be the daughter of Mr. White, who, in turn, was closely connected to Spectre boss Franz Oberhauser. At the close of the movie, Bond and Swann departed together, leaving their ultimate fates with each other to speculation.

Now, with Seydoux’s return, we will likely discover what happened next with their relationship, and whether they are still together by the time Bond 25 hits screens.

Bond 25 is expected to premiere in theaters on February 14, 2020.
