The Glee star let out the exciting casting news earlier today when the actress took to Twitter to reveal her upcoming guest starring role.
It appears as though Lea Michele may be looking for a departure from her Glee alter ego, Rachel Berry. A few hours ago Lea left a Tweet saying “I’ll be appearing on an episode of my favorite show @SonsofAnarchy! Thank you so much @Harparbar & @sutterink #SOAFX” along with a photo of the show’s logo.
If you are not familiar with Sons of Anarchy, it is a drama on FX that is based around an outlawed motorcycle club in California. It’s not exactly what we would consider a musical or even uplifting for that matter.
The drama seems to be pulling out all the strange stops as it has already booked both Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love to appear in the upcoming final season.
According to MTV News, FX has said that Lea will being playing a character named Gertie who is “an empathetic truck stop waitress and single mother, who connects with Gemma during a difficult time.”
We’re not exactly sure how the usually bubbly actress will adjust to this gritty show, but we’re hoping for someone other than a naive, small town girl. This is a chance to really step out of the box and make a name for herself outside of Glee and Broadway.
