The first clip from one of Disney’s 2015 short films titled Lava debuted online this week.

The vibrant clip depicts a singing volcano who appears hopeful that one day he’ll meet someone “to lava.” The poor volcano can’t move his location, of course, so he sits tight as the earth moves around him.

The synopsis for Lava doesn’t clue us in on what’s going on in this short story. “A story that takes place over millions of years and is inspired by the beauty of tropical islands and the allure of ocean volcanoes,” it reads.

The song the volcano sings was written by James Ford Murphy, who also directed the film. He’s been at Pixar a while as an animator on various films like Ratatouille and The Incredibles.

In an interview with Yahoo in support of this clip’s release, Murphy said that they make the stagnant volcano come to life by having birds, sea animals, and other natural aspects of earth move around him. Sadly, he didn’t clue us in on the plot during the brief interview.

We hope this happy volcano will be able to meet someone to… lava.

Lava will be attached to Pixar’s Inside Out on June 19, 2015. Before then, fans of Disney have their upcoming animated film Big Hero 6 this November to look forward and another short film titled Feast attached to it.
