The latest Last of Us Part II leaks apparently reveal some shocking moments in the story, but fret not, this report doesn’t refer to any of them.

Sounding downtrodden and frustrated at the latest batch of The Last of Us Part II leaks hitting the web, Naughty Dog took to their Twitter account to announce the new LoUpII release date.

The game was originally meant to release on May 29, 2020, but that release was delayed due to complications from the development team needing to work from home during the COVID 19 quarantine.

The game will now release on June 19, 2020.

Naughty Dog vice-president and Last of Us series director tweets that he is, “Heartbroken for the team” and fans that have been spoiled on the latest goings-on of Ellie and Joel.

In their statement, Naughty Dog says, “It’s disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development.” They also ask fans to, “Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don’t spoil it for others.”

The Last of Us Part II has seen its fair share of leaks, but even the game’s publisher says, “No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it.”

In the first LoU, players control Joel for the majority of the game as he travels with young Ellie, a girl who is immune to the bites of Cordyceps-infected humans. Now, Ellie takes over as the lead of Part II in a tale of travel and vengeance.

Part II will be a massive game, if comments on the game’s two discs are anything to go off of.

The creators also state that just when you think the story is about to end, you’ll realize what you just played was only the beginning of the entire game.
