Former ‘N Sync member Lance Bass has released a new song for the first time since he was a member of the iconic ’90s boy band.

Bass’ new song is titled “Walking On Air” (not to be confused with Katy Perry’s PRISM song of the same name) and features Anise K, Bella Blue, and Snoop Dog. Listen below:

“For the last two years I’ve been listening to demos, just trying to figure out if I want to get back in the studio,” he told E! Online. “I hadn’t heard anything that resonated with me. But a couple of months ago, a track from Anise K landed in my lap from a friend of mine and he was like, ‘I think this will be your first song.'”

“Walking On Air” is a dance song that Bass describes as fun for a club. “These days songs have to be played in clubs and this is one of those songs that you’ll definitely hear in the club. I’m sure it will be remixed so many different times.”

Although he’s dropped a single, don’t expect an ‘N Sync reunion or full album anytime soon. “I have zero plans,” he says. “I’m going to release it and if people love it, hopefully it will climb the charts…I’m just going to play it by ear.”

Bass is openly gay and made headlines with his former ‘N Sync bandmates when they reunited last year at the MTV Video Music Awards. He currently hosts a talk show on SiriusXM’s OutQ.

Versions of “Walking On Air” have been released previously in Australia and Belgium.

Should Bass continue releasing music on his own?
