YouTube has officially ordered a new documentary produced by *NSYNC’s Lance Bass detailing the rise and fall of infamous record producer Lou Pearlman.

The new documentary, which is currently going under the working title The Lou Pearlman Project, is slated to premiere later this year via YouTube’s subscription service YouTube Red.

According to the official press release, the new documentary film promises to take a deep dive into the idea that “[behind the] multi-billion-dollar, pop-idol empire was a con artist who established himself as a maverick entrepreneur and music producer.”

Bass aside, there’ll be quite a bit of boy band royalty featured in the new documentary. Deadline reports that the film features in-depth interviews with Backstreet Boy AJ McLean, O-Town’s Ashley Parker Angel, as well as solo artist and little brother of BSB member Nick Carter, Aaron Carter.

The new documentary also features interviews with *NSYNC’s JC Chasez, Christ Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, Bass’ mother Diane Bass, and mother of Justin Timberlake, Lynn Bomar Harless.

Musicians aside, the film will also feature interviews with entertainment industry experts, federal agents, former friends, and other victims of Pearlman’s Ponzi scheme.

In a statement about the upcoming project, Bass revealed that he’s “always wanted to tell the story of the rise and fall of Lou Pearlman.”

“I thought I knew most of the story since I had a front row seat,” said Bass. “I was fascinated to learn so much more through the eyes of other artists that were also subjected to Pearlman and his nefarious operation.”
