Last night, pop superstar Lady Gaga played host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Check out some of the highlights from last night’s episode.

Lady Gaga kicked off Saturday Night Live with one of the more enjoyable opening monologues in a long time – complete with dancers and a different arrangement of her hit single “Applause.” Check it out here:

Saturday Night Live’s cold open featured current cast member Bobby Moynihan playing Toronto Mayor Rob Ford who has recently made headlines for admitting to using cocaine. The sketch was pretty hilarious and included Ford hilariously trying to get a better picture of himself than the unflattering ones that have appeared in the press. Check out the sketch below:

Jay Pharoah returned to another digital short that had the studio audience at SNL laughing. This time it was a commercial for depression that featured Pharoah spoofing President Barack Obama. Check out the digital short below:

Lady Gaga took the stage as a dorky Genius from a local Apple store in this hilarious sketch parodying Kanye West and Kim Kardashian (played by Jay Pharaoh and Nasim Pedrad). Gaga even throws the audience a bone when she ironically delivers lines about wearing crazy clothes. Check out that sketch:

Gaga also took the stage to perform music from her latest album ARTPOP, which was just released on Monday. The first song of the night was her second single from the album, “Do What U Want” which featured a surprise cameo from R. Kelly:

Gaga performed what many are considering one of the best songs on the album, “Gypsy,” for her second song of the night. The Madeon produced track is considered by many fans to be the strongest song from ARTPOP. Check out the performance below:

Lady Gaga also played a raggedy older version of herself in the future where she’s unknown and people don’t recognize her. Because the sketch featured copyrighted music, it is unavailable for streaming purposes.

What did you think of last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live with Lady Gaga? Considering the pop acts that have hosted and performed in the past, we think Gaga did a great job and had one of the more entertaining episodes thus far this season.

Next week Catching Fire star Josh Hutcherson will host SNL with musical guest HAIM.
