Bad news, Lady Gaga fans– turns out we won’t be getting our hands on Chromatica next month after all.

It’s been four long years since Lady Gaga graced us with a brand new album. So naturally, the news that we wouldn’t have much longer to wait before getting our hands on the highly anticipated LG6 was a welcome one.

Unfortunately, now it seems as though Little Monsters far and wide will have to wait longer than originally expected before they can press play on Gaga’s forthcoming sixth studio album.

So what’s the hold up on Chromatica? Unfortunately, like countless other movies and television shows, the albums originally scheduled release date of April 10 has been pushed back due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

Gaga herself took to Twitter to break the news to fans far and wide in the form of a lengthy note.

“I wanted to tell you, that after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatic. I will announce a new 2020 release date soon,” wrote the powerhouse pop star.

From there, the “Stupid Love” singer went on to explain that while she understands entertainment and art can offer up a welcome escape for many– especially in trying times such as these, releasing an album like Chromatica during a time like this “just doesn’t feel right.”

“Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions. It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic,” continued Gaga in her note.

In addition, Lady Gaga went on to briefly address her Las Vegas residency, reiterating that due to the coronavirus pandemic, she’s had to postpone shows schedule to occur between April 30 and May 11. As for the upcoming Chromatica Ball tour, it sounds as though Gaga is remaining hopeful about the fact that those dates won’t be affected.

“I had so many fun things planned for us to celebrate together…I had a secret Coachella set lined up, and a lot of other fun surprises, some of which I’m still planning to share with all of you very soon! Chromatica is still very much on the way and I can’t wait,” promised Lady Gaga. “I hope you can see that when the album does come out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make it the most bombastic celebration of all time. And until that time comes, LET’S ALL STAY HOME!”
