Lady Gaga has released her vocals for Kendrick Lamar’s “B*tch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” a collaboration that was supposed to be included in the up-and-coming rapper’s new album.

Scheduling conflicts and label issues didn’t make the duet possible, however, so Lamar released the song without Gaga’s vocals in his debut album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.

That doesn’t mean we’ll never get to hear what could have been, however. Gaga’s tweet leaked a video of backstage footage from her time in Brazil and Colombia with her version of “B*tch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

“We feel bad about killing your vibe, so here’s the demo you never got to hear. And the chillun in Rio, and backstage in Colombia,” reads the video’s description.

The duo were also set to release another collab in “Partynauseous,” but that fell by the wayside for similar reasons.

“When I collaborate with an artist I work solely with them, not with their camps or management,” Gaga explained in a blog post. “It’s purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music. This is why I am not [on] his record.”

She continued to explain that the song would instead be released “at a different time, for a different project.” ARTPOP, maybe?
