Lady Gaga has released the first “Applause” music video, which focuses solely on its lyrics.

Lady Gaga’s “Applause” lyric video was shot in a club called Mickys in West Hollywood, California on Tuesday night. The singer filmed the video herself, which stars two dancers performing the song.

The lyric video for Gaga’s first single off ARTPOP arrives just two days after the singer declared a “pop music emergency” and released “Applause” following internet leaks. The song had been scheduled to drop next week.

Still scheduled for a release next week is the real “Applause” music video. The single and video had been set to drop at the same time before the leak occurred.

“Applause” has been well received by fans of the singer who’ve been eagerly awaiting new material since 2011’s Born This Way album. Gaga herself has been active on Twitter since officially releasing the song on Monday, interacting with Little Monsters around the world who adamantly support her work.

ARTPOP will be released as an album and iOS/Android app on November 11.

Can’t wait for the next single from ARTPOP? A song titled “Burqa” leaked earlier this month, and Gaga promises all-new music arriving during her appearance at the iTunes Music Festival in September. We assume the next single can’t be too far behind!
