Deadline is reporting that Emmy-winner Kyle Chandler (“Friday Night Lights”) has been added to Kathyrn Bigelow’s (The Hurt Locker) untitled Hunt for Bin Laden film, which tells the story of the Navy Seals who ultimately killed Osama Bin Laden.

The film, which is slated for a December 19, 2012 release through Sony Pictures, is working from script crafted by Oscar-winner Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) and has an impressive cast which includes Jason Clarke (Public Enemies), Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Chris Pratt (“Parks and Recreation”), Jessica Chastain (The Help), Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes) and Edgar Ramirez (Carlos).

As Deadline reports, Chandler is believed to have signed on to play a CIA agent in the film, although nothing has yet to be confirmed.

Already controversial, Bigelow and Boal are believed to have gotten secret information from inside the Obama Administration leading up to the ultimate demise of Bin Laden. In order to stay out of further hot water politically, both the filmmakers and Sony Pictures have agreed to wait to release the film until after the Presidential election in November.
