Bad news for Krypton fans. SyFy has pulled the plug on the series and its intended spinoff.

The Krypton season 2 finale just aired on Wednesday, but the SyFy network has already decided to not move ahead with a third season of the show, Variety is reporting. Krypton was set 200 years before Superman was born, and the series followed his grandfather, Seg-el, who was played by Cameron Cuffe.

In season 2, a well-known DC comics alien bounty hunter, Lobo, joined the series. We previously reported that SyFy was planning a spinoff based on that character. Unfortunately, SyFy will also not be going ahead with the spinoff of the series. Emmett J. Scanlan portrayed the character in Krypton season 2 and was set to continue in the role in Lobo.

Krypton season 2 is still set to hit the DC Universe streaming service in 2020, and the series could still be shopped around to other networks for future seasons.
