Kristen Wiig and Tim Robbins are the latest stars to join Welcome to Me, the forthcoming indie flick from producer Will Ferrell.

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay have proven to be an unstoppable force in the blockbuster comedy world and now, the duo are throwing their weight behind the indie comedy, Welcome to Me.

The serio-comic film follows the story of Alice, a woman living with dissociative identity disorder, who wins the lottery and funds her own cable access talk show. In the midst of her quest to become a celebrity, Alice begins to alienate everyone around her.

Wiig, who was long rumored to be cast in the leading role, has officially been set to play Alice in the film. Wiig is also serving as a producer alongside Ferrell and McKay.

Joining Wiig, in a role not yet specified, is Tim Robbins, who previously made a cameo appearance in Ferrell and McKay’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy.

Jennifer Jason Leigh (Revenge, Weeds) and Linda Cardellini (Mad Men, Scooby-Doo) are also cast in the film, which is currently in production.

Shira Piven, McKay’s wife and actor Jeremy Piven’s older sister, is directing from a script written by Eliot Laurence (The Big Gay Sketch Show).

Ferrell and McKay’s latest project, Anchorman: The Legend Continues is currently in post-production and is scheduled to hit theaters just before Christmas on Dec. 20. Wiig also has a role in that film as a love interest for Steve Carrell’s character.

Welcome to Me is eyeing a 2014 release.
